Encompass
Service League has had a strong partnership with Encompass Early Education & Care, Inc. for over the last 60 years. Encompass is a non-profit organization providing education and
care for children in Brown County with a commitment to compassion,
quality, and advocacy. Encompass began in 1919 as a one-room child care center known as the Green Bay Day Nursery which had only one teacher and 10 children. It was in 1950 that Service League became the sponsor and over saw the daily activities in a house at 716 Chicago St. Encompass hasnt stopped growing since!
Encompass now operates eight licensed child care locations in Green
Bay and DePere. Encompass is a United Way agency, and four of the
centers benefit from United Way funding. Seven of the Encompass
centers are nationally accredited and the eighth center is in the
review process. In partnership with Service League and others in the community, Encompass
programs and child care facilities serve over 900 children each day.
Encompass has a long history of providing quality child care and education
for children and outreach to families and Service League is proud to be part of their important work.

Our Support
 |
Scholarships
Each year Service League awards Encompass with a check for $12,000 to support their family scholarship programs. These scholarships are given to families that may not otherwise be able to afford daycare expenses. It is because of these scholarships that many families are able to keep and maintain their employment and therefore better position themselves to take care of their children and provide for their future.

Community Gifts Grant
Additionally, Encompass was a proud recipient of a Service League Community Gifts grant of $10,000 this year in support of their DePere site expansion which after its completion will provide enrollment of 56 additional children, space for before and after school care, summer camps, and 4-year old kindergarten to meet the needs of this growing area.

Giving Tree
Every year Service League partners with Encompass to help children in Brown County who are in need. During the holiday season, Service League receives the names and ages of children from Encompass Centers who would not be able to have a Christmas without the help of others. Many family circumstances may contribute to hardships for these individuals and Service League makes sure that these children are able to celebrate the joy and magic of the season.
The Giving Tree gives Service League members the opportunity to answer these children’s Christmas wishes. In previous years our organization has provided Christmas for over 100 children in Brown County! |
